Circumference Management, LLC. appoints Chief Information Officer

September 15, 2008 -- Jacksonville, Fla. – Circumference Management, Inc. (CM), a has hired Robert Walkord to oversee its technology and systems. 

In his new role, Walkord will manage all technical functions that support the phenomenal growth curve the company has experienced over the last year.

Prior to joining CAI, Walkord was with NYK Logistics (Americas), Inc. and its predecessor companies for more than nine years, most recently serving in its EDI department, supporting the IT needs for more than 200 employees.  He began his NYK tenure with the former VEXURE (then known as Stonier Transportation Group) first as a freight scheduler and later as a shipment tracker for general commodities. 

As the company grew, so did Walkord’s role in the organization, taking on all responsibilities for EDI as he transitioned to the IT Department, handling electronic data interchange implementations, phone system programming, network server execution and desktop support.

This also included system development for the design, function and implementation of the predecessor company’s windows-based truck dispatch technology, along with improving functionality and system tools.  Walkord was additionally responsible for initial website development and content. 

Before NYK, from 1994 to 1998, Walkord handled all live video production, post production video, live concert lighting and various music videos while traveling to more than 250 U.S. cities with the Lauren Stalnecker Concert Tour.  During this time, he acquired his CDL operator’s license as an over-the-road truck driver to assist in driving tour equipment across country.  It was during this period he was first exposed to the intricacies of the transportation and logistics industry.
